SubletUT ("we," "us," or "our") is a free listing board that helps UT Austin students find and post sublets. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we collect.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google. We use this to identify you and enable you to post listings.

Listing Information: When you post a listing, we collect the details you provide including address, rent, dates, photos, and contact information. Your contact email is shared with users who message you about your listing.

Messages: When you contact a host, we send your message and contact information (email, optional phone) to the host via email. We do not store message content after delivery.

Usage Data: We may collect basic analytics such as page views to improve the service. We do not use tracking cookies or sell your data to advertisers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Enable you to post and manage listings

• Facilitate communication between hosts and interested renters

• Improve and maintain the service

• Respond to support requests or feedback

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

• With other users: Your listing details (including address without unit number) are publicly visible. Your contact email is shared with users who message you.

• Service providers: We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, Google for sign-in, and Resend for email delivery. These services process data on our behalf.

• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect safety.

Data Retention

Listings are automatically archived 3 days after their end date. You can delete your listings at any time from your dashboard. Account information is retained until you request deletion.

Your Rights

You can:

• Access and update your listings at any time

• Delete your listings from your dashboard

• Request deletion of your account by contacting us

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure authentication. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the site.
